Right here on this blog, MyDD.com, I recall Chris Bowers blogging about Google Bombing the election. When he came up with that idea I thought it was a great thing to do. I pasted his source code into my blog's sidebar too (this enhances the effect I think). Now the thought has crossed my mind to take the Google Bomb to another level. I want to start a Google Bomb targeting corporations that are doing wrong by the people and the environment. In other words I want to tackle bad corporations which there are many.
Currently, i'm reading a book titled Party Wars by Barbara Sinclair. In the book she talks about how the Democrats functioned as a minority party for so long (but no longer), yet kept party unity. This clearly shows the leadership that Nancy Pelosi is capable of displaying. I found this evident in the way the Democrats stood together on that horrible Medicare prescription drug bill in the past.
I'm an avid reader who finally got around to checking out Jerome Armstrong and Markos Moulitsas Zuniga's book Crashing the Gate. I foolishly put off reading this book when it first came out because I thought it was just going to be all about the "netroots" and blogging. I had already read David Kline's book Blog! and so I thought that this book could wait. Let me tell you how wrong I was.
Last year in 2005, around March I got a phone call from someone who said they were the campaign manager of Ben Shuldiner's campaign. They had gotten my phone number from someone in DFNYC telling Ben that they should meet me since I was a young activist up in Westchester County which is part of the NY - 19 Congressional District.
Anyone who reads my blog knows that I really hate the retail-slavery-industry-complex. I really don't like focusing on sales, sales, and sales! Yes, I worked in it long enough to know that I hate it all. I don't care about monitoring numbers and projections and all the stuff that working for most corporations, and not only the ones involved in retail entail. While It's good to make a profit, I'm not all about the profit motive above all else. I don't see myself in a career where all I did was make money for some corporation and It's shareholders. I don't aspire to work my way up to some District Manager position or executive for any corporation, not only in retail.
I really hate many corporations. But before I go all ballistic which I will, I shall shout out the good companies and organizations like Working Assests and Coop America. By now if you have been reading my blog you realize that I really wish to see corpratists that suck the working poor and middle class dry truly suffer and writhe in pain.
I plan to apply to low-wage jobs on Hot Jobs and all the other job sites with this cover letter and resume. Of course I'll alter the cover letter to the specific low wage job and company, and notice the email I'm using which is strappedworker@gmail.com in honor of Strapped the book by Tamara Draut. I've also done a resume below which I'm going to send out as a Word doc too LOL.
You know I was listening to Christine Cegelis on Laura Flanders' show last night and she said that her and her people, the organization of volunteers that her campaign excited and built up were not going to go work for Duckworth, but instead they are going to go and help local progressive candidates not backed by the establishment. I think they are doing the right thing. Duckworth has the establishment support they obviously just expect people to vote for her anyway.
