Right here on this blog, MyDD.com, I recall Chris Bowers blogging about Google Bombing the election. When he came up with that idea I thought it was a great thing to do. I pasted his source code into my blog's sidebar too (this enhances the effect I think). Now the thought has crossed my mind to take the Google Bomb to another level. I want to start a Google Bomb targeting corporations that are doing wrong by the people and the environment. In other words I want to tackle bad corporations which there are many.
I did not want to paste the source code here because I think the blog would convert the HTML and I don't want to use MyDD.com for things that they may not like. So therefore I have created a source code which hopefully people can expand and improve upon over on my site here.
What i've also done is code the links with the "rel" tag. This is a tag that blog search engines like Technorati and Icerocket pick up. If I could get enough people to do this, things could get really fun. It's almost like those guys the Yes Men who try and take over a corporation's identity to impersonate them. They take over the corporation's identity and will send something out that basically brings to light some of their ill practices. In the case of Google we'd be taking their identity in some way I think. Imagine if Walmartwatch.com was the number one link when someone typed Wal-Mart into Google?
